The area of the Gödöllönai Hills Area Conservation Area is 11,996 hectares, of which 3,128 hectares are heavily protected.

Location

The protected areas east of Gödöllöness extend roughly from Forest Gardens to Péce. The hilly area of Gödöllöness extends from the northwest-southeast of Vác and the southwestern border of the Czech Republic to Albertirsa, the Tapio region. The geographical significance of the hill lies in its function as a watershed to the east and west, from where the Danube flows west to the Tisa.

Other

The slopes have a wide variety of surface shapes, with steep slopes and deep narrow valleys, flat hills separated by wide valleys, sandy, desert habitats and boggy, steep valleys. The landscape of each area is very varied, with large northern exposed slopes and wider east-west valleys, and cool hills to the north and narrow valleys to the north. Due to this differentiating variety, the hills are relatively rare in terms of altitude: hundreds of square kilometres of high altitude make up a number of different types of hills with a high elevation.

Plant and animal life

The rich and diverse flora and fauna, the vibrant small interior valleys, and the spectacular scenery of the city's beautiful forests are all due to the fact that the area near the capital has been a resting and hunting ground for the rulers of power for centuries.

The typical and rare forest association of warmer slopes and valleys is the warm-faced bald-green, lowland orchids, red goliath, crow's nest, and crocodile-like gamandor, with hundreds of spring-bound hedges in the spring. The unforested sides are wide, open valleys from the south and east, and the sandy grass of the hilltop-shaped humpback is the sandy grass.

In the south-eastern part of the hill country, near Isaszeg and Pécel warm oak forests, there are steep, spiny grasses and swamps.

The wildlife of the long-term enclosure of the government hunting area, which is still surrounded by fences, is very rich. In addition to the precious large game of wild cats, deer, deer, rabbits and goats, the area is also home to precious birds, including the common poultry species of the black rhinoceros, the black rhinoceros, the green rhinoceros, but also icebirds, the taras, and the cockroaches.

Cultural values

The cultural and social historical significance of the Gödöllői Hills, located in the central area of the Carpathian Basin, is also prominent. In the forests of the region, there are also many Smarthese, Scythian and Avars monuments: cemeteries, earthworks, remains of sand (near Valko, Sada, Pécel), and traces of the famous Csörsz rivers can be seen.

One of the largest places of farewell in Hungary, the Mariabesnyő Gracious Temple, is located in the area.
