Hatibiye Medresesi is a former Islamic school built in the Seljuk architectural style in the old center of Bitlis, in eastern Turkey, standing close to the historic Alemdar Mosque. Like many of the medreses that once served Bitlis's religious and educational life, it dates from the period when the town was an important center of Islamic scholarship in the region. The building has not remained in its original educational use; today it has been repurposed as a tourist information office, helping visitors explore Bitlis's dense concentration of Seljuk and Ottoman-era monuments, including the city's well-known mosques and medreses. Its survival, even in an adapted role, keeps one more example of Bitlis's historic Seljuk stonework in active public use rather than leaving it abandoned.
