Torkos Palace
The Torkos Palace is located in the historic downtown of Győr, on the narrow, medieval-origin Stelczer Lajos Street that connects Dunakapu Square with Széchenyi Square, at number 8. It is a noteworthy monument of the city's early Baroque civil architecture. On the rustic stone-framed keystone of its entrance the year 1697 can be read, indicating the building's construction period. At that time the late Renaissance Tuscan columned courtyard was created, which was later walled up and then restored in 1967. A beautiful balcony with a railing can be seen on the building's street façade, built during the 18th century.
