Vajda Lajos Memorial Museum (Vajda Lajos Museum is more commonly known in recent times; St. John's Street, Hunyadi 1, opened in 1986)

Presentation of the museum

The museum belonging to the Ferenczy Museum Center was created from a small town town town hall built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It houses the works of Vajda Lajos, a painter associated with the Saint Andrew's School. It was opened in 1986. The original material of the permanent exhibition came together by the fact that the Ministry of Culture purchased the widow of the artist from the estate in 1979, and in 1980 gave 100 works to the Ferenczy Museum Center for the creation of a memorial museum.

The exhibition, which includes the artist's outstanding works, is complemented by an exhibition on the ground floor of the building showing the masters of the European School of Sacred Order, with the images of Anna Margit, Bálint Endre, Barcsay Jenő, Czóbel Béla, Hegyi György, Korniss Dezső, Sántó Piroska, Vajda Júlia.

Currently, the permanent exhibition is not open to visitors, and the museum offers space for periodic exhibitions.
