Haraççıoğlu Madrasa
The Haraççıoğlu Madrasa stands in the Kavaklı neighborhood of Bursa's Osmangazi district and began in the eighteenth century as a tekke, a dervish lodge of the Naqshbandi Sufi order, founded by a local notable named Hüseyin Ağa of the Cizyedarzâde family. Over time its function expanded beyond the lodge to include formal religious education, and it came to be known as a madrasa as well as a tekke, eventually building a library that made it a recognized center of scholarly activity in Ottoman Bursa. Architecturally, the complex grew in stages: an older northern section dates to its original period as a tekke, while a later southern section was added afterward, the two linked by a pointed-arch passageway. After falling into disuse, the building was restored and now serves as a venue for cultural and social events rather than its original religious and educational purposes.
