The Szentendre Rose production site nature reserve was established in 2000 in the north‑western part of the Pismány Hill in Szentendre.

History

The Szentendre rose grows only in Hungary; outside Szentendre its locality is barely known. The plant is therefore highly protected, its conservation value is 10 000 forints. It was discovered in 1920 during a construction in the eponymous town. Most Szentendre roses are located in the north‑western part of Pismány Hill next to Szentendre. The Szentendre Rose production site nature reserve has been operating here since 2000.
